Top Rope Rock Climbing Instructor Certification

Itinerary:

Day 1: Top Rope Anchor Setting and Rappelling course.
Day 2: Basic Improvised Self Rescue course plus instructor's setup for the Introductory Rock Climbing and Rappelling course.
Day 3: Shadowing a lead instructor in a session with real clients.
Day 4: Teaching a session with real clients with a lesson plan, supervised by a lead instructor.
Day 5-11: Progressing from co-teaching to independently teaching sessions, managing varied situations, supervised or directed by a lead instructor.
Day 12: Evaluation of an instructing session with real clients.

Rattlesnake Point Facility Information:

There is a water tap, a public washroom and a shower facility near the parking lot.  The hike from the parking lot to the cliff is about 10 minutes. The cliff is 70 to 90 feet high.

Equipment and Personal Preparation:

You need to have your own harness, helmet and climbing shoes.  Zen Climb provides all climbing equipment needed for top rope climbing and rappelling.

You are responsible for your transportation and your park entrance fee.

Weather Kit - Sun lotion, mosquito repellent, sun glasses, rain jacket in case it rains.

Clothing - loose fitting clothing made of synthetic materials for easy movement and quick dry; old hiking/walking shoes or boots for tough wearing on rock. Put your jewelry and artificial finger/toe nails away.  Pull your long hair back to avoid potential interference with rappelling and climbing.
